Black And White Wedding Invitations

When it comes to choosing the color palette for a much awaited wedding, people are often confused badly by the variety on offer. The difference between ecru and cream, coffee and soft white etc are a big head ache. It can all become a bit of a headache matching material to paper goods and flowers.


Many people opt for the delightfully sophisticated black and white wedding. No problem here matching everything and the green of the background foliage sets off this color combination to perfection.

This is where the black and white wedding invitations come in. They are absolutely elegant in their style and form and come in many different designs.

Some come in plain black with a monogram of the couples names embossed on the front in white. All printing is also done in white and looks truly stylish.

Others companies offer a photo card. The couple’s photo is placed square in the middle – in color or black and white –of a black card and is framed in embossed dots to make it stand out. Open the card and you have details of the wedding and venue etc. This is a wonderful keepsake for the invitees also since they can slip the invitation into a frame for a lasting reminder of the big day.

Yet other invitations look like the front of a black tie and dinner jacket. How elegant is that? It also sets the tone of the wedding and I would assume that no one would turn up in less than their very best outfit for this wedding!

But it doesn’t all have to be stark black and white. For a change there is a choice of cream and black invitations. This still looks elegant but has just a touch of color to lessen the stark effect.

Some couples like to take this black and white theme a step further and tell their guests that the dress code is also black and white. Having seen this in action this writer can only say that it was the best dressed, and elegant, wedding I have ever attended!
